Since the Kanstul thread has been obliterated, does anyone have the links to the 2 facebook videos Mike Corrigan posted?
Those are a remarkable opportunity to see the inner workings of a major transition in the brass industry, thanks to his generous sharing of the experience. This is like having had a window into when Bach moved from Mt. Vernon to Main Street in Elkhart, or when Holton loaded the entire factory onto a train and moved to Elkhorn (amazingly BAC moved Kanstul by rail too - maybe the last time that will happen). Google does not seem to be able to locate those videos, and it would be a shame for everyone to lose that access. _________________ Ron Berndt

He says that B.A.C. now have all the original Benge, Calicchio, and Earl Williams mandrels, as well as many of the Olds mandrels. _________________ '50s Martin Committee M Bore

By the way, it looks like the old Mt. Vernon Bach building is still standing.
The street address and a picture are in the Vincent Bach Mouthpiece Manual shown here: https://yourbrass.com/home
And Google shows the building still there, with some changes: https://goo.gl/maps/jeJxbie514vFAqcm6 _________________ 1938 Martin Handcraft Imperial #2 bore, 38 bell

Most of the posting were for low brass and marching band instruments, recently they've posted their cornet stock, and today's batch of trumpets. _________________ "You need F-15's..." Joe Biden |

Just to let folks know, as the creator of the most recent Kanstul website, I plan to keep it alive as a tribute to Zig and his company's legacy, and as a reference source for instrument specs, parts details, etc. I hope it proves useful to those who appreciate the amazing history.
By way of introduction, my relationship with the family goes back to the early 1960s, including working stints at the F.E. Olds and Benge factories. Beyond the personal, I feel that it's important to preserve this history as we witness these ongoing changes in the industry.
I appreciate the opportunity to join the TH community. _________________ 1929 Olds serial #2 (combination brushed/bright lacquer)

Thank you. Greatly appreciated. It is very useful.
I just had a fantastic conversation with Mike Corrigan. What an awesome guy. I am really looking forward to seeing their development and trying some of the instruments we discussed.
Seems like a great home for Kanstul tooling, and I hope they are successful in developing a business model that works it a tough world.
Also watched the tour video -- great! _________________ Bb: Schilke X3L AS SP, Yamaha YTR-6335S
