The worst that can happen is that you will not like how it plays. Does the seller accept returns? |

It says no returns, but I’m sure if I ended up not liking it, I could always sell it, there were 30 other people watching it. I’ve really only played like 3 different trumpets (because I’d forgotten mine at home), so I don’t really have much of a preference, but I get what you’re saying about maybe not liking how it plays. |

I ended up forgetting to place a bid on it, and it’s too late now. |

And thus the saga will continue. |

I found another one that’s basically the same Conn, but it’s a bit more tarnished and has a couple more dents. It’s priced about the same ($199.99), and it’s even closer, though still not a distance I would be able to go to test it out. The slides sound like they all still move, but one of the valves is stuck. The inside looks pretty clean. |

By "inside" I mean running a borescope through the leadpipe and possibly tuning slide. The unpleasant news are usually found there. |

Ah. Do you think it would be worth it, or should I keep looking? |

Keep on looking. This one is a Besson (possibly Kanstul made), may have some red rot in leadpipe but otherwise looks nice.
This one is definitely a Kanstul-made Besson 609 and is OK except the nasty dent in the bell crook. |

What is your opinion on the Roy Benson brand overall? I found a barely used one for $350 plus another &70 for shipping (even though that’s an absurd shipping price), and it looks pretty good. |

I would suggest to keep focus on well known brands. |

To much money for an off brand. You can find more well known brands for the same price. Resale of the Roy Benson trumpet will not be easy. Getzen Capri trumpet, Bach 200 would be excellent choices. _________________ King 603 cornet American wrap
