@ Vin DiBona: Yes I did. Several times actually. It helped a lot but took some weeks to fully adjust.
@ scottfsmith + Brad361:
I gave it a few weeks extra, and I cannot understand anymore how I could not like the mouthpiece for the first 2-3 weeks. It took a lot of effort and time to adust my posture, mindset, mouthpiece placement, and way of breathing, but it really payed off. I can now hit notes 'almost' reliably that I wasn't even approaching 2 months ago. And all that with a Monette with a C-ish cup...
The funny thing is, if I now go back to other mouthpieces that I liked before, those play completely different. And luckily, the changes I had to make to make the Monette work, actually benefit me with the others too.
Best decision ever. |
