It's always jarring to see how little really good classical players make......

Glad an agreement was reached....but only one year?

I am glad this is over for now. In general collective bargaining parlance (kind of old school) the union will offer a 1 year deal and the management will offer a long term deal. Longer term deals insure labor piece and the ability to plan.

The union offers a one year deal as a way of leveraging management to "buy" a longer term. It looks like management did not want to pay for a longer deal. So the cannons are still booming like the end of the 1812!
