Were all King Sterling Silver bells engraved as "Silver Sonic"?

NO the earlier ones were engraved silvertone. Here is a good website if you are fond of the H.n. White Horns.

There were also some early SilverTone models that did not even say that, and are identifiable only by a cryptic script character above the bell engraving.

I concur with the above. My uncle's King cornet from the 40's was "Silver Tone." With fighter jets breaking the sound barrier and everybody getting on the "supersonic" bandwagon (pun intended) in the late '50's, H. N. White changed the name of the bells to "Silver Sonic." Same bell.

Sears sold a line of stencil brasses under the "Silvertone" name in the '30s. It took a few years, but Sears eventually took King to court over the name and won -- thus "Silver Sonic."

As posted above it was loosing the lawsuit to Sears that caused them to change the name not the supersonic bandwagon as you say.
