I can play this exercise with the rolled out embouchure, with a normal both lips in the cup embouchure (but I do pucker to get the pedal C), or with the C on normal embouchure and the double pedal C on the rolled out embouchure.
I know Jeff doesn't like to talk about what way to do something is correct, but I'm just trying to decide which method I should practice. All 3 work, but the shift from the roll out embouchure to the regular embouchure is a much more drastic change. _________________ Music is a fire in your belly, fighting to get out. Mike, I assume that you are talking about RO #3?
If so, the 3rd option is correct. Notice that the exercise is called "The Shift."
