I recently completed inspection, oiling, cleaning all my trumpets and cornets. The total consisted of the following:
Bb, C, D/Eb, F/G, A/Bb picc, Flug., Bb cornet, Eb cornet, 2 A/Bb tpts (don't ask), Bb rotary, C rotary.
Baths were done as necessary, the right way. All valves were re-oiled. Slides greased. Now I'm good to go. This took a bit of time to get through, in multiple evenings.
I am satisfied with this exercise. Now I know they will all work when needed. Gigs call for some of them once a year, sometimes less. I may decide to do this every year.
I highly recommend this rather than letting them sit, then relying on a tech to pry things loose when in a pinch. But that's just me. _________________ Jon J
