Hey all,
Quick question: is Maurice Murphy playing principal on the Lord of the Rings soundtrack? The LSO played that soundtrack, but in the many lists of "Maurice played such and such awesome film!", LOTR is never mentioned. I wonder if someone else covered that gig for some reason.

It's the London Philharmonic, not London Symphony. (Or at least mostly - a few parts of it were recorded by the New Zealand Symphony.) The principal trumpet was Paul Beniston:

Who, coincidentally, I believe is currently on trial for the principal trumpet chair of the LSO! |
