I'm almost sure now that Lee Morgan was playing a Benge in the late 50s and NOT a Besson.

In the videos on Youtube and in photos on Google, you can see the main tuning slide brace very clearly and it is "double banded" or "double ringed" like a Benge would be and the position of the 3rd slide stop rod is exactly where one would be on a Benge. He was most likely playing either a Chicago Benge or Burbank Benge at the time.

Lee could have played a tin can and still sounded like Lee

I'd happily pay $50 AND the shipping on that tin can 😳
