Hello

I'm looking to buy 2 trumpet mutes for our trumpeters to accompany our choir on "The Battle Hymn of the Republic".

Which mute is being used on this recording?

A link to an option or two would be really helpful.
Thank you so very much

That arrangement uses straight mutes.

That's a great arrangement.

Here is the Mormon Tabernacle Choir performing it and the mutes are visible. Not sure of the brand, but they're straight mutes.

Thanks @Tpt_Guy, it is an amazing arrangement for sure.

We don't have a full orchestra but I'm going to try arrange it for 2 trumpets, percussion and the organ. Hopefully I can get a similar result.

Thanks for the info about it being straight mutes, saw some people talking about Harmon mutes online so I wasn't sure.

Would you think this to be an ok mute:

Yes, Wick mutes would be fine. When I've performed this piece I used Wick or Jo Ral, depending on what the other players had. Never had a problem.

I used to be in this orchestra. Mute choice and horn choice depended on who happened to be playing principal at the time. Usually we were on the Monette Cs owned by the orchestra when recording, and we tended to use Wick cup mutes sans the cup on those horns. Example:
