Hello guys,I plan to order new valve springs for my Lawler and I want to ask your opinion about different material springs like bronze, steel or phosphor (is this right?),until now I used to order Getzen springs becose my horn has Getzen valves .
All those exotic valve springs makes any difference to the sound or behave of the horn or is just a other marketing trick to catch trumpet geeks like me .
Sorry for me terrible English.

I think everything affects something, but I would be inclined to buy the Getzen springs for Getzen valves.

I don't know what difference different spring materials would make. I found that switching from plastic to brass or nickel valve guides made a very small difference -- brighter -- on my horns with Getzen valve blocks.
I wasn't even aware that one could buy springs for Getzen valves in different materials. If you do experiment, please post your findings. I'm really curious. |

I also have try metal-brass I believe-guides on my Lawler, I found that improves the slotting and response of the horn but i dont like the sound,I feel that it loose some harmonics.
Sure I post my expiriance guys.
