Just downloaded JamKazam which looks promising altho you need an audio interface and a long ethernet cable. Just popped for those items on eBay for under $100. Looking forward to some worldwide jamming!

The FaceBook group “Jamkazam Jammers” has a lot to say about Jamkazam including frustration/sadness that it hasn’t’ taken been maintained.

To answer my own question above about jammr, it does what I thought-you don’t hear the other players live you hear them in the previous round. I think the idea is to jam on a chord progression in a loop.

I would be surprised if any program reliably worked live, there are too many delays built into the system. Locally the old analog phone system might have worked as it was speed of light but it is all digital now with packets queuing up, compressed, encrypted, etc.

Here is a video that discusses the optimal settings for singing and music on Zoom.

Bought a Berhinger UM-2 interface and a Samson horn mic and now successfully recording myself using JamKazam.

If you're using a Mac, especially one running Catalina, you may have to use the control/shortcut method of opening JK because it's not an Apple-verified developer.

Hoping to get some guys from my band involved to test JK's capabilities for jamming. The system test feature in the app indicates there shouldn't be latency.

More to come.

Zoom shares far too much information about you for my liking.
