Dear All

I realise this is mainly a US based forum, but I just wanted to pay tribute to Ian Balmain on here. He was Principal of the Royal Opera House, former Principal of the RPO and RLPO in the UK.

He sadly past away recently and his funeral was today.
He was my teacher and gave me my first gig which helped launch a career.

A friend said it simple and best. He was a gentle genius and an inspiration to us all. Thank you Ian for the kindness and the music. RIP.

Best wishes

Jon
