Hello guys, I want to now the differences between those two lines of mpcs.
I suspect that the special is the older line that the shank fits to older (before 50's) selmer trumpets and the soloist is the 50's line that is identical but the shank fits to the newer K-modified horns.
Is that correct?

Regards

Since I did recive any answer, I will answer to my question, because today I recive a soloist 4 and I spend some of my practice time to check the differences against to a special 4 I have.
No , is totally different mpcs , the blank is different the size is different, the Special 4 is a big 17.50 mm diameter with super flat and wide rim and the soloist 4 is around 17.00mm with semi flat and not so wide rim .
The cup is on both double cup shape but on the special the shallow part is very shallow and the deep part small in diameter, on the other side the soloist has deeper shallow part and wider the deep part of cup.
The bore looks the same and I believe that is #28 or #29 , the bbore on the special is open(close to Purviance bb) and the soloist has a fairly tight bbore.
And finally the soloist is much shorter in length , unfortunately both dont fit to my Lawlers but this is a good excuse to buy the vintage Selmer balanced model that always dreaming.....
Both are great mpcs very well balanced and I really like them , the special fits and works great to my 1942 Selmer 3-valve piccolo .

Regards
