Wow......just.....wow. I wonder, if you play this gig, and you become infected, and pass it along to a loved one, are you going to look at them and say "I. Don't. Care"? Sorry, but I myself would have a hard time living with that. Your mileage may vary.......

We. Don't. Care. Quite possibly why 100,000 Americans are now dead. Rock on.

This thread reach it's appropriate conclusion about 10 posts back. At that time, I noted that this was a very helpful topic, that many us will be dealing with in the coming weeks.

I also added, that in spite of the variety of opinions on what can be a controversial topic, the comments (up to that point) were all respectful.

Let's keep things constructive and respectful.

One of our players is now in the hospital with Coronavirus.

I can’t continue to post in this thread without venturing into politics so I’m signing out.

Followup.

Social distancing was only observed by the band, we spaced out, were as far away as we could get, and the horn section had the lights set up, so that the dancers were 12' away from us.

The first 30 minutes I was there, was spent using my surveyor skills, to put masking tape x's on the floor, to lay out where everyone set up. They say 6', I used 8', because safety. We have some members of the band over 80, with already compromised immune systems, not taking a chance.

We took benches, the owners had put out, and used them as barriers, so nobody on the dance floor got close. We set up the lights, so they were behind the barriers, no risk of someone falling into them, has happened before. Cost us 300 bucks, to fix it.

Awesome gig.

Repeat, awesome gig.

We made over 700 bucks in tips, had probably 80-100 on the dance floor all night. Social distancing was out the window, people shoulder to shoulder, 5 deep at the bar, one of the few gigs I've played, with zero alcohol consumption,
because I couldn't risk getting near the bar.

Had a comp card for 100 bucks, I never used. Not worth the risk, the one time I used the bathroom took 10 minutes social distancing in line to just get through the door.

They were so hungry, for entertainment. We were so hungry for a live audience, was amazing.

If I test positive tomorrow, totally worth it.

Understand, and God's grace go with your player, that they get through this.

Same here, so much political I would just love to rail on, but not the right place, and not the right time.

However, will leave you and your people with this, even if it gets me banned.

May God bless you and keep you, may He make His face shine upon you, and give you peace. Amen.

i'm not sure how i feel about this to be honest. i get it

after seeing all that i have seen these past few days it is hard for me to be upset.
i am slowly coming to terms with the HERE and NOW

..... and as i said in my first response.
at some point we will all have to decide when it is time to take a gig.

i think these days there is no right or wrong.

Our friend is now on a ventilator and his kidneys are failing. So tragic. So sad.

I'm sorry, Jim. Much love to the family and hoping for that miracle.

Our band mate died this week. He was a wonderful guy, a good singer and clarinetist but an even better person.

Please be safe everyone.
