I'm a little late but I just found out about this and am absolutely heartbroken. Wayne's diagnosis and Ryan's passing soon after....2020 just keeps getting worse. Really praying hard for him and his family; we're not ready for a world without Wayne! _________________ Bach 180S37

God bless Wayne's friends. This is the best medicine for Wayne right now. I'm with those who feel Mr. Bergeron can beat this disease. My prayers and best wishes go out to him. _________________ GeorgeB

If someone finds an email address, perhaps lots of us could send an email with our thoughts and best wishes, and maybe a picture of a horn and a little note next to it. Kinda cheesy, but he is a person that inspires me to practice. _________________ Bach190ML43

I've been inspired by and have listened to Wayne for many years. He is a kind soul who has a great sense of humor. To me he's carried the torch from the other great studio/commercial musicians of the past and continues to honor that tradition. Apart from his musical accomplishments, he's also taken time to share his knowledge with others in an educational setting and that might mean even more to me than his musical achievements! Wishing him all the best and he will be in my thoughts! _________________ You never put out someone else's light to make your own shine brighter.

Hi all, First of all thank you all for the kind words and concern about my condition. Dave Hickman informed me there as some talk on the TH about my cancer so I thought I'd chime in
For those of you that don't know my situation, I was diagnosed with HPV P16 Positive Squamous Cell Carcinoma Cancer back in March of this year. It was a cancerous tumor located in my throat at the base of my tongue. To say it has been a ****ty year is the understatement of all time. Covid and cancer both suck but together are a double kick in the head. On May 11th I started my 7 week treatment regiment of chemotherapy and radiation. My last treatment was on June 29th.
I finally got a PET scan on November 9 to see if the treatments did their job.
After waiting over 4 long months I finally got some great news from my doctor letting me know my scan was clear. As you can imagine, my wife and I are relieved. It was really great to get some positive new during the worst year of my life.
To celebrate, we spent several days in the local mountain community of Idyllwild, CA., one of our favorite places. What better way to celebrate than with a 7 mile hike and some really great wine☺
Between the Weight loss (50lbs), chemo, radiation, and not gigging as regularly as I was has made playing the trumpet pretty challenging. I'm trying to embrace my new weight with exercise to get strong. I started pilates last week. I never thought I'd say that...LOL! Things are coming together and all and all I'm feeling pretty good.
I’d like to thank all you for your prayers, love, encouragement, and support. Your positive energy got me through this frightening time.
Much love,
Wayne

Wayne, thanks for the detailed update. We’re all wishing you a steady and continuous recovery. Now enjoy yourself with family. I can hardly imagine coping with both treatments and COVID restrictions/concerns.
Hoping you and your family have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Thinking about it further, I believe we are all looking forward to a new year.

I'm very happy to read the good prognosis! Best wishes for a smooth and complete recovery! Goodness knows none of us are lining up to play your parts, so we need you on form! All the best!
