I recently got a VERY nice Benge 8Z cornet. A beauty. But ...

I would like all 3 of the horns in my primary 'kit' to match as well as possible. That means finger buttons with an inlay, instead of blank. The inlay I can handle, but the buttons...

Anyone know of a good source for these that have threading that wold match the Benge (UMI) line??

Thanks!

The caps will also need to have the same stroke affect. If the rim hangs down too far or too little the alignment will be off.

So if they are not the same you will need to perform an alignment after switching.

My recommendation is Allied Supply. Their phone number: 262-723-5455

Benge thread pitch is 6-36. Other makes besides Benge that also share these threads include Bach and Holton. Allied Supply makes a 6-36 universal replacement with pearl that we have in stock in raw brass, but would be happy to order them in silver plate if you like.

We also have a matched set of 3 Eastlake Benge finger buttons with pearls in silver plate if you’re interested.

Call Tim at 978-823-0580 or email sales@osmun.com to place your order.

I hope this is helpful.

It might be. I don't want pearl, though - my Marc's have abalone insets, which are ... nice. I can get all of that I need locally, so finding the right pieces is the only sticking point.

Knowing the 6/36 thread helps a lot. I will look at your site to see what you have that I can have done. Don't need silver plate, though... yet. (I'm gonna have them gold plated, sooner or later, and while silver is a good substrate... time is not pressing.)
