Hi all! I'm a newbie here.
I recently inherited a bunch of stuff from my old trumpet teacher. One of the items is this old Bach case. Just from looking at it, I'm going to assume its an Old Mt. Vernon double case. I'm hoping someone else can give some other pertinent info, like maybe vintage, etc.
Here is a shot of the case
Here is a closer shot of the metal plate on the top. The same plate is inside the lid
Here it is open. The horns sort of lay flat, not vertically like on the double cases I've seen and owned.
And the surfaces the horns lay on hinge upwards, and there are mouthpiece notches underneath
So can anyone add anything to what I've deduced? The case doesn't match any of the horns I inherited. There were 4 Bachs, but all Elkhart horns. But he had lots of multiple cases, so I'm sure maybe this was from a horn he sold or traded off earlier in his career. |
