Hey trumpet friends,

Just wanted to share this new series I've been releasing every Monday over on YouTube and Facebook.

Every Monday I post a new video on mutes.

Happy to answer any questions, and always open to suggestions for what to review, and ideas that would make these videos more useful!

Thanks!

Thanks for your post.
Very interesting, nice playing and video. My own preference would be the brass one but I have the aluminium one ( as everyone !)
Regards

Glad you enjoyed it, thanks! Yeah, the brass one is amazing. The copper is a close 2nd.

New video every Monday, I'll try and post them here each week.

Take care!

Interesting. I’d like more on the modern mutes, as that’s what I use.

Great material! Thank you for posting.

From 5:07 to 5:11 both the tone and mute color of the anodized aluminum match the emotion of the last two notes of the trumpet solo in Mahler 5 Trauermarsch.

Are there any modern manufacturers who make a harmon-style mute with a detachable funnel?

Thanks!

Every week a new video, I mix in the modern with the vintage. I've got somewhere around 200 mutes (and always adding), so I'll be making these videos for a long time, and I will be covering as many modern brands as I possibly can.

Not that I am aware.

Although, the Soulo harmon was recently updated to have a small insert that goes in, but it's not very long. It does help with the response in the lower register. That will be revisited in an upcoming video.
