Hi!

Just wondering, does anyone have any suggestions of (not too terribly complex or difficult for my sake) beautiful solos/etudes composed by female composers? I'm trying to expand my knowledge of repertoire and composers.

Thanks!

It's not strictly an etude, but I've found the music composed for Child of Light by Beatrice Martin very nice for both solo and ensemble play.

Check out the works for brass by Amy Mills. She wrote a great trumpet concerto for Dennis Najoom that is worth checking out.
Also, Lauren Bernofsky's Concerto for Trumpet.

Thanks, Eagle,I know Amy wrote a successful work for trombone but I didn't know about this trumpet piece. Amy and I used to work together and I've been happy about her successes. I'll check it out.

p.s Is it "Journey One"?

Great suggestions, thanks everyone!

Anyone know of any that are public domain? Or, that's to say, pieces I don't have to pay for.

Thanks again for all the suggestions.

Pakhmutova's Concerto for Trumpet, it's a great piece of music! Not sure if you'd consider this too difficult but definitely worth checking out.

We artists should all be supporting one another, especially now.
