In 2018, I switched to using product from a new entrant on the valve oil scene. I've had good experiences using the oil on stainless trumpet valves.

In August, when it was time to reorder, I reordered the same 2 oz bottles as before. The web site looked the same as before, same 2 oz web description.

When the order arrived, I was dismayed to find that the 2 oz bottles are now 1.25 oz. Same price 2 oz price, same 2 oz web description, but product 1.25 oz.

Ice Cream and Orange Juice makers have used similar ploys for years, but at least in the grocery store, you can see with your own eyes.

I took a phone picture of the bottles I received and of the web site description, sent it to the manufacturer. Radio silence.

The established valve oil brands don't do this. I think if they reduce the size 1/3 they're going to make it plain to see. We're all understanding of the struggles of small business, but this isn't right.

The photo of the web page shows both 1.25 and 2 oz bottles available for purchase.

Did you double check the invoice to be sure you ordered the correct size?

Well, it's listed as a 1.25 oz bottle in the description here.

PopTarts, too... They're smaller.

I remember when a pound bag of coffee was 16 oz.... now it's 10.5 oz!

Remember when a pint of ice cream was a pint? Now it's 14 oz

Try making a recipe with a boxed cake mix that was developed BEFORE they shrunk the boxes!

I'm waiting for 10 eggs per dozen -- that's next!

It's all about perception and marketing. It's why American business shut down or move overseas.

Ps. Reese's cups are now not much bigger than the individually wrapped minis! That's the real travesty!
