Sorry for the long intro - I tried to incorporate a "skip intro" button via annotations in YouTube, but was unable to do so. _________________ Jim Wilt

I guess you were thankful for every quarter note that came along. Nice jog of keeping it interesting with slight variations in emphasis.
My comment on 198 seems to have gone missing.
Very lovely rendition. Really enjoyed it. _________________ Bb: Schilke X3L AS SP, Yamaha YTR-6335S

Listening to your so delicate playing has become a "default" part of my day. It´s so refreshing to hear, inspiring me to go on practicing in spite of cancelled rehearsals/concerts. It´s all to easy to "cave in", no bright future soon ahead. I really admire your "zest"!
I´ve noticed that sometimes I get the idea of asking you to disclose at least some of your favourite studies or studies/aspects that seemed to be crucial. But even if I know all men are equal I realize this is so personal! You got to find your own way. And that hard laborious work is required.
Funny, feels like sacriledge to write this - being so satisfied just listening!

Well, when I'm "working", I don't actually spend very much time on etudes, because we do a *lot* of new music in LA. I'm usually spending my chops trying to learn that. However, if I notice certain parts of my playing starting to suffer (sound, for instance - it's easy to get very small when working on physically punishing rep), then I will often turn to the Brandt etudes to try to get more of a robust, orchestral sound. If I get too banged up and blow the aperture too open, I will often go the the first 1/4 of the Sachse book and alternate between buzzing and playing a few measures or a line at a time. I don't play any of this stuff on a regular basis, and at this point virtually of these are new to me (with the exception of Clark and some Brandt - there are ones I routinely skip, haha). _________________ Jim Wilt

At 100 you kind of jokingly were talking about the next 100 and now here you are. Thank you for keeping up the good work.
Nice work on this etude. You seem to have gotten a bit of Andre's style and feeling into it, which is no small task. Lovely. _________________ Bb: Schilke X3L AS SP, Yamaha YTR-6335S

Another one that seems like it just works it way to that exquisite final note. Lovely interpretation of this one. _________________ Bb: Schilke X3L AS SP, Yamaha YTR-6335S

A hauntingly beautiful, warm, emotional presentation of a quite graceful melody! Speaking directly to my "body and soul".

Another great example of your taking something that could really be read quite academically and making it musical. Such a great lesson for us all. Thank you. _________________ Bb: Schilke X3L AS SP, Yamaha YTR-6335S

A different cornet. I think this is the first time we have seen this one. What is it? Always great to hear you on cornet.
Of course that is far less important that the great work behind the mouthpiece. This one makes us want to dance. Tough work, but pulled off so well. _________________ Bb: Schilke X3L AS SP, Yamaha YTR-6335S
