I have a custom lead mouthpiece that I had made over 10 years ago. At the time, heavy weight gear worked really well for me so I had the blank made similar to a Monette STC3 blank. I haven't used the super heavy weight stuff on my lead set up for years and I would love to have it shaved down a bit to reduce the weight. Is there any company that offers this service? I know Osmun Music used to do this but that page is gone from their site. Thanks in advance!

It might be cheaper or nearly as cheap to simply have the custom piece done again, but with a lighter blank.

Yes, but why would something that worked before not work now? Or, did you think it worked but it never really did? Or did something significant change? Why would you think cutting it down would make it work better now?

The service of cutting heavy blanks down to conventional shape is still available. Feel free to reach out by phone (978) 824-0580 or email the shop at sales@osmun.com
