Anyone ever heard of these trumpets?
https://galileodolce.com/en/home

Looks awfully similar to some of the original Galileo trumpets, but I guess there is no relation:

Opinions?

Are they made in Poland?
The address is there. The 'warehouse' they refer to is there.
But I didn't see anything on the site about where the horns are made.

Did I just miss it, or are they not revealing that?

It wouldn't have to be a negative.

Flip Oakes' stuff was made by Kanstul.
Austin Winds is made by Taylor.
Manchester Brass is made by Hoxon Gakki.
Divitt and Del Quadro proudly advertise Getzen valves.
etc.

The original Galileo merged with Egger in 2008
https://eggerinstruments.ch/en/galileo/piston/
This new company appears to be a new company inspired by the designs. Seems a bit weird to me.

Found an old Thread on here that confirms they are of Chinese origin and Chinese assembly designed mean is really trumpet player. Quality is like Yamaha intermediate grade but tone and intonation is OK. Confirmation came from an endorser.

Yeah, these are Chinese made horns.

Kind of knock offs of the Galileo Jooleo, which is a high quality horn.

They DO look similar to the original Galileo trumpets but the prices really are lower. However, living close to the Polish border I would assign quite some of this to the lower Polish wages. I’ll have to look again but I thought it says on their website that they are actually assembled in Poland. Anyone ever played one?

It is possible the new business model or updated business model is Assembled in Poland of Chinese parts. Still some thing I don’t want any part of.

I went through their website and it does say they are hand-made (sic) and that the company is in Poland. But I didn’t see anything about assembled in Poland, although I could have missed it.

On the topic of handmade. Other than the plastic trumpets are there any that aren’t handmade? I can still remember debating whether the handmade Benge trumpets were superior to Bach trumpets which supposedly weren’t handmade back in high school in the early 1970’s.

No joy if you're ordering without testing.

At that price point you can get a Hoxon Gakki (Carol, Manchester Brass) and not have to sweat it. And I'm sure there are other options Other people speak highly of Jupiter, for instance, but I've never played one.

Maybe if you're in Poland and you can test it, it's another story.

I guess that really comes down to what do you consider to be "handmade". If the benchmark is a trumpet entirely untouched by human hands throughout the process, then I would say all trumpets are handmade. If it is a trumpet that is 100% made with hand tools only and no machinery then I would say, arguably, no trumpets are handmade. In actuality, it lies somewhere in between and the definition is different for every company/person. For example, I would consider our bells to be handmade. While we use spinning lathes and electric cutting tools, we do not use hydroforming or CNC spinning lathes. Then again, a hydroformed bell still requires some hand labor, just not as much.

I look at it like food. What is "homemade"? How can a restaurant advertise something as "homemade". Is it just because it isn't made in a factory? Consider a spaghetti dinner in your home. If you make the sauce but use canned tomato paste is that homemade? And what about the pasta?

It's a rabbit hole of gray areas.
