I once owned a gorgeous Holton nickel plated trumpet that had some brass around the valves. It belonged to my father before me, and it was purchased in the late 60s or early 70s. It had no big markings on the bell, it just basically said "Holton" (if I remember correctly). It had black felt beneath the valves, and the tuning slide had a Holton emblem on it like none I have seen on the internet thus far. The trumpet was stolen from my apartment about 7 years ago, and that's why I cannot provide adequate information or serial numbers. I do have some low quality pictures and I found an ad that could possibly be the same horn. It MIGHT be the Holton T100, but I am not positive on that. I ask, because I am desperately trying to find one that is the same. Would love to have another one just like it.

Here is an ad I found on ebay that could possibly be the same horn.

Can anyone help me with this?

Were the markings similar to my Holton F-200 shown below? Although it has Frank's signature, I've confirmed this flugel was expertly built in 1968 by Antoine Courtois, in France. It has a Courtois serial# (not LeBlanc/Holton). I love its tone and intonation...

The emblem in your first pic is just like the one on my horn - but everything else does not look familiar. If I remember correctly, the word "Holton" was in plain print. Nothing cursive or fancy, even.. just plain print.

**Might I add, you have a beautiful horn, and that is such a great price! You got very lucky! I have been looking all over the net for one like mine.

Welcome to TrumpetHerald!!

If you Google Holton Loyalist, that site will show some pics of different models as well. Good luck; I think you'll get some contributions from others as well.

Is there any way that someone can post a picture of a Holton T100?

One has finally surfaced...

HOLTON T-104 TRUMPET, FULLY SERVICED 380742

This series of Holton "wide" Model 100s was interesting in the 1965 catalog...

I've discovered more about my extremely rare 1968 Holton F-200 pictured above. Found a reported interview from the 1966 NAMM of distinguished Holton designer Arvid Walters...

The Elkhorn Independent 1966 wrote:
NEW FLUEGELHORNS

The new Holton fluegelhorn series is good news for the growing number of fluegelhorn players in this country. Holton has returned to the fluegelhorn market after a 25-year absence with three models that rank on top for blowing qualities, according to Walters.

"There's never really been a fluegelhorn that plays in tune," Walters said. "That is, until this series."

The fluegelhorns feature a true conical bore design that extends throughout the entire instrument. The conical bore is carried from the mouthpiece through the tuning slide to the mouthpipe to the bell.

"This design provides all the characteristics we were hoping to achieve with the instrument," Walters said. "Response is even throughout the range. There are no spotty notes. Intonation is the best yet. The conical bore gives fullness of tone. It diminishes the higher partial and strengthens the fundamental tones.

"In short," Walters said, "the fast acoustical taper gives us the veiled dark tone desired and still provides good intonation."

Holton designed a special mouthpiece with deep V-type cup to match the fluegelhorn.

Size of the bore is smaller than conventional cornets and trumpets, Walters added.

The F-200 model is designed along modern lines. Styling in the model 200 fluegelhorn is set off with intricate diamond-faceted designs on the braces, caps and buttons. The instrument looks as good as it plays.

This model also utilizes top valve springs for quiet, fast and smooth action.

Price for the F-200: $385 (1966).

Everything Holton you'll need to know is in the above link
My guess is it was a Collegiate Special Deluxe. Many of the Holton models were never actually marked clearly

I don't know if the OP ever found this out, but the trumpet in those pictures is a Holton T-401 Galaxy.
