I nearly pulled the trigger on a new Charlier the other day and then noticed that this appears to be a new printing with dimensions of 9 x 12. Anyone have ideas of where to find a "classic" Nouvelle Edition (the larger one)? You know, the one you always kept sticking out of the outer pocket of your gig bag to impress your fellow trumpet players _________________ Comeback Trumpeter as of 12/20 (after 25 years off)

I don't believe Alphonse Leduc prints the larger format any longer. You might be able to find a used copy in good condition from a used book store like Alibris or AbeBooks, or perhaps eBay. Alternatively, you might find a music store that still has the old format in their inventory. Good luck! |

Another alternative is to purchase a PDF copy and use it on an iPad Pro. I've scanned or purchased many books and the iPad is all I use now. The crop and half-sheet options make things easier for these old eyes...
That being said, I have saved all my old copies and refer to the notes I took during lessons.

I always liked the large ones because I could read them much better.
However, with the larger format, I think they ended up taking more abuse - at least the ones I saw always were beat up. Aside from being out of print, they're probably hard to find in decent shape. _________________ LA Benge 3X Bb Trumpet
