No experience with liquid wax here.
I use a product called "renaissance wax".
Easy to apply, long lasting and seems to work fine. _________________ Trumpet : Yamaha YTR-9335CHS + Yamaha YTR-6335H

I used a similar product although not the same product.
I used in on a bottom cap.
The product hardened well on the surface and became a shell but over time wore off at contact points even though I was careful in handling.
I dont consider waxes to be protective because of this experience.
They are good perhaps for museums that store exhibits in cases but in the real world they just wear off rapidly if they are handled.
Laquer wears off at contact points so waxes stand little chance. _________________ Conn 80a Cornet

I use griots garage spray on wax on my silver horns after each bath. No tarnish and clear as a bell.

I've watched some YouTube videos on renaissance wax.
Do you use anything to remove tarnish after taking off the old lacquer? _________________ Gotta Love Music |

I always put white vinager in the warm water.
That will remove all green oxidation and also patina color.
If I leave it over night in the tub, the trumpet looks as new.
But if you want to keep some patina color on it, best not to let it soak too long. _________________ Trumpet : Yamaha YTR-9335CHS + Yamaha YTR-6335H
