I have a friend who just got an Adams A2 trumpet that has the perfect valve compression and feel that I have played on in a long time and I'd like to find some place where I can get valve springs in various wire thicknesses and to try to find some that would come very close to the feel of the Adams A2 trumpet feel. I have tried twisting the springs in the past with some success but I's still like to know where I can get some springs in different strengths and stuff to experiment further with. Anyone know where I can look? Thanks.

Off the top of my head, I'm not sure what manufacturers offer different tensioned springs. Harrelson now has some springs on their site (bronze) which come in three strengths of resistance. I got them along with their new valve stems months back and they fit perfectly with that of course; though, I'd assume fit wouldn't be a problem with them regardless. I didn't have a choice to choose then, but I'm assuming I got the medium strength ones ? and I really couldn't tell a difference when I took my bronze ones out that came with my Bach Commercial. Remember to keep in mind that the harder the button is to press down, it'll come right back up that much faster.

I'd be interested to hear back if you prefer one on an extreme end of the spectrum with your horn.

There isn't really a market for aftermarket springs.

I think Brass Sound Creation in Luxembourg offers high speed valve springs, but that's about it as far as I know.

You could go to a repair shop and try their selection of springs and see if you can find a set that you prefer.

First - we need to know what trumpet/cornet make and model you have.

Depending on this you may have a few options. One may be Austin Custom Brass. https://www.austincustombrass.biz/search.php?search_query=High%20speed%20valve%20springs&section=product

Another is Josh Landress Brass. https://www.jlandressbrass.com/

There are other sources for the springs, these are vendors that I have bought from in the past. You can call or email them as well to discuss you specific trumpet springs.
