Hi!

Looking for experiences and opinions on the Adams A1 Gen 2. How is it as a solo horn? Lead horn? Classical horn? Only looking for those who have tried or played it to give me their opinions. I've seen Trent's videos on it and they've been super helpful.

Anyone? I've been told they're extremely popular...

Your best bet is to email ACB and see if you can get short responses to your questions from a few of of the people there. I'm sure between Trent, Nate, and Kyle you'll be able to get a good idea of what it plays like.

Thanks, but I've already done so and that was helpful. I'm looking for more people to share their experience.

Hey Bryant. I know this a slightly old thread now, but it seems like you didn't get much of an answer at the time you posted this.

I currently play a reverse leadpipe 43 bell Bach Strad and I've been wondering if the A1 gen 2 or an Adam's A4 LT would potentially be a step up in big band lead and jazz soloing? I've been playing my strad for almost 25 years now, and I'm interested to see if a more specialized horn would be a nice change of pace for the playing I do regularly.

Have you had any feedback from ACB or experience with the A1 GII?

The Adams horns I played didn't left a huge impression on me, they're nice horns but nothing special.
If you are into Dutch boutique horns I would suggest to check out Van Laar trumpets or Mark Geelen https://www.mgtrumpets.com: Top quality for a good price!
Since I like to play Getzen trumpets, this could be a nice addition to your fleet as well: https://www.getzen.com/trumpets/custom-series/3050-trumpet/

I had one. Good horn, excellent workmanship. Just nothing special for me.
But I have a friend, long-time professional, who loves hers. It's her go-to horn for everything.
