I own a 1939 Bach Mercury that has witness marks for pulling slides to A. The instrument actually plays better in A than it does in Bb. I talked to MK Drawing about making A slides for a Bach Bb trumpet, but they did not think they would find much interest.
I also own a very old Conn A/Bb that is in fair shape, but that gets played when I am playing second cornet on an A part as a sub in the orchestra. It just makes sense and sounds great.
L'Histoire is on the C cornet. In fact, my Schilke C cornet is on loan to a friend playing L'Histoire soon.
Great discussion!
