I'd never seen this before - Well Git It is at about 4:20. It's basically the Dorsey arrangement with strings added - "Maynardized" of course. He solos on trumpet and valve bone.
Anyone know of other renditions of Well Git It by Maynard?

A "stompy" version! Impressive. But I must confess I prefer the Dorsey version with Chuck P and Ziggy E; in my humble opinion much more on the beat without becoming stompy......
Played it (well tried to) in our swingband early 1970s, - quite numb in my lips afterwards...... _________________ Cornets:

As great and clean as the original is, that pretty much took things to parts unknown..beyond description. High F's arranged for the end, and he plays an 1/8th note slur to Dbl C - 6X's bigger than the high F. He did that with an 1/8th note.. |
