The horn is identical to the regular flugels, just the bell is bent differently. Carol instruments get great reviews on here so I figure you could try one. I really like the Carol valves, although soundwise I’d probably pick another flugel. A bit thin sounding for me, but that is personal taste. I’d love to try their triple shepherds crock cornet.
