Check out Al Chez some time. An unusual grip. _________________ BKA! Mic Gillette was my mentor and friend.

I still haven’t found a way to hold a trumpet that allows me to work the slide easily. Not a problem I have with my cornet’s triggers. _________________ "Nearly as good as I need to be. Not nearly as good as I want to be".

Yup, moving the third slide is different; I’ll have to practice that also with the new grip. I like triggers, too. _________________ 2019 Martin Schmidt eXcellence

I heard Botti talking in an interview about moving his pinky from down below the 3rd valve slide to above ('all in') as what improved his range. I've tried both ways and don't see any difference, personally. _________________ Adams A1 Tpt.

I found that I'm comfortable using the "Wynton grip," and figure it's because I use that grip on my Benge pic, with the left forefinger for the 4th valve. |
