I have a Tradition Plus 6 and was wondering if anyone knew the exact size of the cup, throat, backbore, etc. I know it's for 5-7C players but was curious if someone had measured it. I like it but am looking for something really similar at a lower price point. Thanks for any help. |

Or does anyone know a good mouthpiece company that could scan its dimensions? I found Venture, but are there any others? Thanks! |

I think the "tradition plus" 6 uses the same rim as Monette's B6. There is a scan of it on the Kanstul comparator, and I'm sure a few other customers shops already have a scan of it on file (ACB, Harrelson, Vennture, etc.)
You can probably find a Stomvi 3C VR or similar for around $100 if you look on the used market. AR Resonance's MC is also around that size, and those come up for sale used for around $100. Those two makers both incorporate modern elements of mouthpiece design, but with their own sound and feel. |

By the time you pay someone to scan and duplicate the mouthpiece, it would have been cheaper to buy the original. They're $205 bucks currently.
There's a bunch of makers that could scan and duplicate it, but none of them are going to do it for much less than that price. Just buy the original. It's already the 'cheap' option as far as monette is concerned. |

Also, I don't understand. You already own one, right?

So why do you want a cheaper version of a mouthpiece you already own? |

Thanks for all the suggestions. I was just looking to see if there was a way to get a nearly identical playing experience with something cheaper so I could downsize my stuff/collection. |

The Monette rims and bowls are not radically different, but the throats and backbores are not like anything in the standard price category today. _________________ Thane Standard Large Bb / Monette Unity B6-7M mpc
