I have the Cronkite triple. Comparing it to my carryon suitcase it looks like it would fit anywhere the suitcase would. (The suitcase has always fit so far)

Mine is not the leather version, but is cloth/nylon on the exterior. It also is the version that will hold a flugel. There is a minor issue with the bells of the outside instruments touching and scratching each other. I have solved this by always putting my horns into anti-tarnish bags. A small towel or polishing cloth over one bell would work too.

That said, the cloth version doesn’t provide much impact protection so you would not want to check it. I can also see someone moving a suitcase in the overhead and hitting the side, pushing the bells together, possibly resulting in damage.

Going O.S soon. Think I'll just get an SKB flight case for my one horn and carry it on as hand luggage. I'll smile and wave magnanimously as I walk past the attendants. I'll be so charming they'll have no choice.

As long as the case is no longer than 22 inches/56 cm, it should fit properly into most aircraft overheads. I use a Protec Slimline case and have never had a problem.
