I played last time in 2006. After a break of 12 years, I started playing trumpet again in 2018. I practice only, no performance yet.

After reading a lot about TCE, BE, Claude Gordon etc. I developed a completely different embouchure for myself then I had at the time. And I think, it's much better then I ever had!

Here I posted my first very small recording.

Yes, it works! I got me the piece "Abblasen" in my video somewhere from the internet. I played it two or three times before the recording, and I was very suprised how hard it is because of the jumps (up to an octave) and the many of fast notes . That's the reason why I started it a little bit slow in the recording.

Embouchure: It works, but I'm still working on it because there's still a lot to do!

The key is to play it light and easy. And Doc did pay it fast....

Hello ACAdams!
I listened to your video...that's some very nice playing! There are a lot of trumpet players who don't have that range and flexibility. If you were here in the US, I would say you are ready for some wedding gigs, as a lot of wedding trumpeters play the piccolo trumpet. IDK if the same is true in Europe.

Your experience with embouchure does not surprise me...mine was the same, a great improvement once I got my embouchure placement and embouchure movement ("pivot") right. Everything became much easier after that.

There are a lot of people who struggle to play the Abblasen. If I were you I would keep on playing and seek someplace to play! Good luck.

Thank you very much for your kind words! Yes, I would like to do some gigs again in the future.
