So, I am used to a slightly heavier downstroke on my valves and a little quicker return, than those on the new Yamaha trumpet I have.

I don't want to jack with the 'stock' springs that came with it and looking to find a source for another set, or sets, perhaps in different lengths (strengths) to experiment with the feel.

Any links or other hints to where to get them would be great, thanks.

Mouthpieceexpress.com and 1469music.com are the places I go for springs for valves.

Brass Sound Creations makes high speed springs that are well rated. I have a set on route but have not tried them yet.

You can get the High Speed from Austin Custom Brass.

VS03 for Yamaha.
These might be what you are looking for.

For more options, measure the width and length of your current springs then go looking on e-Bay. There is seller who gives the dimensions of the springs available.

That moment, when you think you ordered two *sets* of valve springs, so you could experiment with one set a bit and maybe stretch the, but leave the other as is, only to find out the springs are sold individually, not in sets of three... for a trumpet wtih three valves.

Well, the third valve isn't used that much if you play lead.

Well, this is a bit embarrassing, but after talking to the vendor I ordered them from, I realized what I thought was a single spring inside the packaging, was actually three springs that had bunched up together in shipping, so I got exactly what I ordered originally, but didn't realize it. I feel pretty stupid for not checking more closely, but at least I didn't end up with six sets, or eighteen total springs, by ordering four more of what I had already received.

Thanks to Tim at Osmun for setting me straight over the phone. They're always easy to work with, even when you do something silly like I did.
