What do you think about digital wind instruments? Do they really sounds as origin instruments?

They don't sound too much like any traditional wind instrument to me (within a certain limited portion of their range, they perhaps get close to sounding like a clarinet), but they sound good nonetheless. Here's flugelhornist Mike Metheny playing the heck out of one:

I conducted a production of the Music Man and my lead trumpet was on a Morrison Digital Trumpet. It sounded just fine.
