I'm looking closely at a 1964 Bach Strad 181 cornet (Mt Vernon). Nothing on the bell indicates the type of bell. It simply reads "Stradivarius Model." Can I assume this is a 37 bell? Also how can one identify the type of mouthpipe (25, 106 or 112)? Thanks for your thoughts. _________________ Getzen 800DLX cornet

Many years ago I asked Lloyd Fillio at the Bach factory about the Mt. Vernon horns that had no model number on the bell. His answer was that if there was no model number, then the bell was the standard bell for that bore size, i.e.: 37 or 43 for ML bore, 25 for L bore, and 38 for M bore. I was interested because I had a Mt. Vernon Bb ML with no model number. |

It's probably a 37 bell and 25 pipe, but you'd have to get a copy of the shop card to be sure. _________________ LA Benge 3X Bb Trumpet
