HARK! THE HERALD ANGELS SING
arranged by Wesley Nance

(From 2020)

It wouldn’t be Christmas Eve without the brass - and trumpets in particular!

Music in general, but particularly LIVE music is such an integral part of our lives, and even more so on Christmas Eve.

Music is essential for most churches on Christmas Eve, and as trumpet players, many of us are hired for multiple services - sometimes running between multiple churches throughout the evening. Often times we start in the afternoon and continue through a midnight service, then get home and return a few hours later for a Christmas Day service or multiple services.

We know many of you may not be performing at or attending a church service in person this year and will be missing the beautiful music filling the ethereal space.

Though a recording is no substitute for live music, we hope this video brings some measure of hope, peace and joy to you on this Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Thank you to everyone who has followed along and shared these holiday videos this last week and a half. Though challenging to put together, we’ve enjoyed sharing these with you, our online audience, and hope they’ve brought some fun and a tiny sense of normalcy to an otherwise abnormal holiday season.

As you may have noticed, each subsequent video has gotten larger in terms of participants, and today represents our largest of these holiday collaborations. We are so incredibly fortunate and thankful that we’ve been able to partner with 12 amazing trumpet players from across North America.

We’d like to thank Wesley Nance for trusting us to record his arrangement. We’d also like to thank Chris Clark of Clark Media Productions for mastering this recording. Last but certainly not least, we’d like to thank Tim Saeger for taking such good care of us in his audio and video editing! These are giant projects and we would be nowhere without you!

If you celebrate Christmas, we wish you a very Merry Christmas! If you celebrate something else, or choose not to celebrate anything - we hope you enjoy this great arrangement performed by some fantastic trumpet players!

This is our version of a Christmas Eve gig this year - please enjoy Hark! The Herald Angels Sing arranged by Wesley Nance.
