Hey, everybody. . .

The Rafael Mendez Brass Institute is all set to run live next July 10-16 in 2022. This will be the best week of performing, learning, and fun you can do!

The event will be held at the University of Denver and is open to advanced high school and older brass musicians, but is limited to an enrollment of 120. The first people to sign up are accepted, regardless of age or ability, so google the RMBI now to get started.

Faculty include members of the Summit Brass and the Denver Brass. Check out the amazing list of faculty on the site. (Trumpet faculty includes Chris Coletti, Joe Burgstaller, Ronald Romm, John Marchiando, Alan Hood, and David Hickman.)

Everyone is placed in large and/or small brass ensembles with daily coaching and weekly performances. Faculty recitals included plus concerts by the Denver Brass and Summit Brass. Now in its 37th year (15th at DU), the Rafael Mendez Brass Institute is considered the longest running and finest brass only career development seminar.

The family of the late great trumpet soloist, Rafael Mendez, have provided generous scholarships of $500 for each participant. You can stay in dorms adjacent to the Lamont School of Music, or in nearby hotels if you prefer.

Check it out!!!

We still need 4 trumpet players to fill out this summer's Mendez Brass Institute. Although the website says it is too late to receive one of the $500 scholarships, it is still possible before June 19. There are a few work-study positions available too (stage crew, on-site registration, etc.) which will save even more bucks.

Also, we could use a few good horn players if you know of anyone that might be interested. The institute is open to all ages, all abilities.
