Hello. This is my first post, but been reading you all for weeks.
Recently acquired a *very* used but very playable Bach Strad 37 cornet.
Will heavy bottom valve caps for a Bach Strad trumpet fit the Bach cornet?

(please feel free to critique or discuss heavy valve caps on a cornet, but so far, I just want a heavier horn - that's really it). *thank you*

Curry CCaps are heavier than the Bach heavy bottom caps if you want heavier.

My experience with weights - sounds great in a live practice room but added weight makes good player feed back more difficult when playing in a cornet/trumpet section. Listeners will probably think your sound is more brilliant even though you will think weight makes the sound darker.

I have a strad cornet with a 184G (Gold brass bell) and an XL bore. I think this is a semi rare horn.

I love this cornet.

To answer your question, I had a set of Bach heavy valve caps that I bought for my trumpet, and now I'm using them on my cornet.

Thank you (all) for the input.
I got the valve caps (an entire trim kit) from the Ukraine, ordered from eBay for a very thrashed but playable Bach Bb Cornet (I ordered the Bach "trumpet" kit). Everything fits with surgical precision, and it looks nice. Horn is notably heavier (which is what i wanted).
