When I first saw this thread I was wondering what exactly was in this oil that made people act like this lol. Turns out it's just a promotion for free stuff.

Monster makes great products to start with, so when they create a new product AND offer some for free? Yeah, people are going to want to try it.

I have tried them, and the Monster Eco Pro Valve Oil and Tuning Slide Oil products are terrific.

I do not doubt that, and it's not criticism...just that, if you haven't read the first post, it's quite a funny thread.

I received my (very generously sized) bottle of Eco Pro a couple days ago, and I am happy to report that this stuff is awesome. I've used it on both vintage and modern horns, and the action is smooth, fast, and without any sticking. I've tried "classic" monster oil in the past, and the smell always put me off. The Eco Pro is odorless, which is a huge plus in my book. I'm happy to know it's plant based and a sustainable product. I'll certainly be ordering more of it in the future. Big thanks to the Lube Masters for doing this give-away.

I just received my bottle. It works great and the fact that it is plant based is even better. Even better than Hetman light.

Received the EcoPro Oil and transitioned my Al Hirt LeBlanc, Martin Committee and Signet horns. Cleaned the pistons and valve bores with alcohol and applied the EcoPro oil.

First Impressions:
The valves on the LeBlanc slightly faster using the EcoPro oil versus using Moster Oil, Doc’s Juice. Played through a practice session about 1.5 hours without issue.

The Committee’s valves also feel slightly faster using the EcoPro oil versus using Doc’s Juice. Again, completed a practice session of 1.5 hours without issue.

The Signet valves are much faster using EcoPro oil versus the previous Berp’s Bio #3. Also worked through a practice session about 1 hour without issue.

Also, see below a rudimentary viscosity comparison of several oils I have used in the past and the EcoPro oil. I placed one drop of each oil on a piece of glass and then tilted the glass to allow the oils to run. In threory, the longer trails are thinner oils and conversely the thicker oils are shorter. I had to red highlight a strip next to the oil trails since they are difficult to see at some angles. One surprise was that Doc’s Juice and Berp-Bio #3 appears to be about the same viscosity.

Thanks for the free sample. Will update after a month or so.
Ron

For Christmas I got myself another horn and I decided to try my new complimentary bottle of EcoPro on it while continuing to use regular Monster on my other horn in order to compare the two.

I couldn't really tell a difference. That's a good thing, as I really like regular Monster.

I also happened to get sick recently (like a lot of people) and had to take a few days off of playing. Didn't re-oil when picking up the horn again to test that EcoPro longevity. Worked fine throughout a session.

I was a fan of Monster products beforehand (I think their cleaning kit is the best value out there for a new player) and that seems to be continuing.

EcoPro gets a thumbs up from me.

I kept the same routine with the new stuff that I keep with my old reliable Doc's Juice: apply 6-7 drops per valve about every 3-4 hours of playing time.

Happy to report the EcoPro and Doc's both last a long time. Valve 3 on a newly bathed Getzen 907s got sluggish after about 4 hours with the EcoPro. Valves 1 and 2 were still very fast.

I'd say the new stuff is certainly Doc's equal, and once I am run through my stash of Doc's (2 small bottles left), I won't hesitate to switch.

As promised, the slippery stuff arrived.

And as described, the slippery stuff is slippery. This may become my go-to valve oil.

Now if I could figure out why my 2nd valve hangs up when I'm playing in the key of B ....

Gary.

Monsters, you have really done it this time. I've just cleaned and re-oiled my 1937 Martin Handcraft Imperial with the heavy viscosity version. The valves have never felt so smooth, actually unbelievable. I'm sold. Thanks for getting this stuff on the market. I do have one suggestion however. I got a bottle of each, lite and heavy. Different color caps would be nice when pulling a bottle out of a gig bag on a dim bandstand. That's nitpicking though. Great job.

Is an Eco-Pro tuning slide oil in the works? I like heavy grease on my slides and would love to have 100% plant-based lubrication on my horn.

There is an EcoPro Tuning Slide Oil available. It works great on my 1st and 3rd slides. I think it is too thin for the main tuning slide...maybe they'll come out with an EcoPro grease??? I'd certainly try it as good as the Valve and Tuning Slide oils work.

Sorry to say there are no plans in the works at the moment for a thick main slide grease. Our synthetic grease is food grade and very safe, but it's not plant based.

Has anyone noticed yet if it turns to “rubber” after a while? Like in the bottom caps you know how synthetics and also beep bio-oil turns to a rubbery grey film that can line the inside of ports and line the inside of the bottom caps? That’s the only thing I don’t like about berp bio. I went back to Al cass cuz there is NEVER any kind of residue that builds up.

I've had that happen with Hetman. I assumed it had more to do with the bio-film produced by the player rather than the oil itself.

Just had first chance to try the oil today, using it on my Celebration in a rehearsal. The oil performed great! And I love the narrow spout on the bottle.

Thanks, Monster Oil!

After a little over a month of using EcoPro oil in my 3 main trumpets, I can report that the oil has performed flawlessly. Extended oiling cycles of the valves in all 3 trumpets. No sticking of the valves and no odors at all. Looks like it has it all, a great product.

I wanna thank Monster Oil for this free sample. Absolutely great!
Do you plan to have a whole line of eco oil, with slide oil, slide grease, etc?

You're most welcome!

6 products in the EcoPro line: 2 valve oils, 2 rotor oils, slide oil, and bearing/linkage oil.

Glad you like like it. We are back in stock now after going out for a bit because of demand.

Best,

Tom
