A 'trust' is excellent, but does have fees.

For simple situations, the best thing is to make sure that
1) you have beneficiary listed when possible on each account
2) have 'transfer-on-death when possible on accounts
3) joint account with survivor-ship
4) if you have an apartment, they might be required by law to prevent entry by someone NOT on the rental agreement - even close relative with a key.

Sadly for people like us, not many really share our passion for horns/music. It might be best to sell your trumpets and accessories before the reaper knocks on your door. Donate the music/records now. The money will go to your estate and I'm pretty sure your heirs will appreciate the cash.
