I don't know what model it is and want to know.

It's a 20+yr old D/Eb convertible.

Serial number is 1331

Not sure I can upload an image to this forum.
It has an S shaped leadpipe, ring on the the first valve slide.

Kanstul has lamentably closed, but their website is still online for archival/historical purposes. Here are the two convertible E flat / D trumpets they were making at the end of their run:

http://www.kanstul.com/instruments/trumpets/1523-ebd-tuning-bell-trumpet/

http://www.kanstul.com/instruments/trumpets/923-ebd-long-bell-trumpet/

Hope that helps.

"S"-shaped tuning slide would be the model 923 - a very nice playing trumpet! Played one for several years including my time with The Dallas Brass.

1331 serial number, by my list of personally owned / purchase date Kanstul serial numbers, would be 1991 or so.

Looks like I have an older 923, 1991 sounds about right too. Thanks!

These 921 D/Eb instruments are sleepers that not many know about. Line it up with a Yamaha equivalent and the Yamaha owner inevitably says something like ‘oh, crap’…

Play it and love it, they are terrific horns.

Cheers

Andy
