A few questions for anyone who has attended before.

Is it like TMEA but just trumpet focused?
I’m mostly interested in checking out the Exhibit and trying out some horns…so I guess a one day exhibit pass would be all that I need?

There is a mariachi trumpet clinic on June 4th, 12:30-2:30pm. I’m not sure what type of pass I would need to buy for the day in order to attend that clinic. Would I even be allowed to sign up for it?

I read this on the website:
“The mariachi clinic with members of Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán will be held on Saturday, June 4th from 12:30 – 2:30 at the Grand Hyatt Texas Ballroom. Students can register under the “YOUTH SPECIAL REGISTRATION” for a $100 registration fee (18 and under). This includes entry to events on Friday and Saturday, June 3rd and 4th.”

Does that mean only students under 18 can attend? Or is it open to other day pass holders?

Anything on the schedule you’d recommend taking a look at other than the exhibit?

I suggest you get a full pass, either for the entire conference or the day that you're there.

Yes, try everything, there will be a wide variety of trumpets, gear, and associated products to shop (hands on).
AND there will be a variety of events to see - go to as many as you can - don't be too selective, there will be surprises. (when there are multiple events at the same time, it's always possible to start at one and if it's not for you, move to the other) I've been to many ITC conferences and have always been pleasantly surprised by perfromanance / clinics / discussions that at first I didn't think I'd be interested in.

The check-in folks will help you get the proper pass.

Go early, stay late, get inspired.

And bring your own mouthpiece. Maybe even your horn for comparisons.

I'd guess that the Mariachi clinic is open to everyone, and the YOUTH SPECIAL is just a reminder that they can attend it in addition to the other events.

If you find a horn that you are seriously considering buying, ask the seller if there is a quiet space somewhere that you could do more thorough testing.

KNOW (see) what the next note is BEFORE you have to play it.
PLAY the next note 'on time' and 'in rhythm'.
Oh ya, watch the conductor - they set what is 'on time'.

So, my wife and I are thinking of going… however we would have to lodge there for two nights.

Any one been to a past ITG and stayed in the same hotel?

Should I stay at a different hotel nearby?

Is my wife gonna hear the screamers all night long?

How many miles away does a hotel have to be to not need earplugs?

By the way, if you encounter me, put in your earplugs first!
