Where can I get new valve springs that have stronger tension/compression/feel? I have an old Yamaha and the valves are so much lighter than my newer horn. I'd like to use my old horn occasionally because it's a medium bore but the valves just feel too light. _________________ Barry Wilson

Hi, have you tried just stretching the springs a bit?

And if you get Yamaha springs and want even heavier action, try the King stock spring- really stiff. _________________ "Strive for tone." -John Coppola

I was wishing for slightly stronger valve springs in my new Yamaha trumpet recently, so I ordered a spring set from Osmun ( http://osmun.com/high-speed-valve-springs/ ) and it made the valve action both better, and more like what I was used to with other brand instruments. $20 is a cheap and easy trial to see if it solves the issue you're having as well as it did for me. _________________ "Music is like candy, you throw the (w)rappers away." |
