About 1 a week - Churchill size, not rushed, but enjoyed.
And don't play that day afterwards (practice first!).

About four times per year. Nothing too crazy. Mostly robustos.

Three coronas per week, usually in the morning with my second cup of coffee. This is Arizona, so that works much of the time.

In the "winter" I often switch to the afternoon to avoid the cooler morning temps. Sometimes in the summer it's too danged hot to go out at all, let alone spend an hour with a cigar.

Jay is right about playing first. Sometimes the nicotine spoils a practice session.

Does anyone inhale cigar smoke? I invited a friend to join me at a cigar lounge but he declined. Said the last time he smoked his lungs hurt for weeks.

I told him you don’t inhale dummy!

As I live in a fire prone state we are not allowed to start trash fires, so no smoking cigars for me.

Serious question. If one isn't supposed to inhale the smoke what is the point of smoking cigars?

Most important to have a good , mild cigar, you just enjoy it in the mouth. A good one wafts around you and you enjoy the aroma.

Some enjoy more bracing cigars, but I doubt anyone starts out on one.

Some taste comes the cigar leaf on the lips. Just bringing the smoke into the mouth is sufficient for the enjoyable taste.

Point of smoking ... it's relaxing - just sit quietly by yourself or with friends - gives time for thinking and 'enjoyment of the moment'.
Cigarettes are too quick, pipes require too much attention.

I'm too fidgety to just sit doing nothing, having a cigar is a slow & easy process for relaxation.

I smoke 2 cigars a year, and prefer a nice Churchill with a dark Maduro wrapper and Dominican tobacco. I have it with a glass of Scot's Whisky at our family lake place with my brother in law. Unfortunately, it always seems when I get there, he has smoked my preferred cigars and replaced it with his cheap stuff. He lives up there, and when he runs low, uses mine and always gets the same crap!!

Anyway, 12 or 13 years ago, I used to use tobacco products more regularly for a year or 2, either chewing a bit of tobacco or cigars, and upon quitting, my range went up a 5th almost instantly. 🤔

In most cases, that would be a mistake that you'd be unlikely to repeat.

Up until about 2019, I used to smoke one every month or so - here in OZ we can get the real deal from Cuba, and I was very partial to a Partagas, or a Punch or Montecristo. I did like a Macanudo now and then too. One of my good friends is a big Cohiba fan, so when at his place I enjoyed them too. As for size, mostly Corona, although I did love the Partagas Lonsdale, which I don't think they make any more.

The problem down here is the ridiculous taxes they whack onto any tobacco products - the recent hike late last year means that any corona-ish sized stick is about $A 40, which at the moment I really can't justify.

Thankfully single malt is still (kind of) affordable.

Cheers!

Roger

When my brother comes up from Texas to visit. He has some from mayby the Dominican Republic or even Cuba that are, as they say "smooth as a prom queen's thighs, and twice as enticing." That would be all the smoking I every have done.
