I have listened to Bird on Tenor and some of the most beautiful recordings was when he was in his studio period with strings. Too bad they didn't do more of with an orchestra behind him.

In my experience, one's approach to flugelhorn is dependent on the horn, the mouthpiece, the ensemble and the music genre.Not to mention the player.

Don't take this too seriously. I read this somewhere once and thought it was funny. I love the flugel and have been playing mine more than trumpet lately, lol.
