What’s the most productive lesson frequency for an adult who plays jazz at an advanced level and is looking for professional criticism and a roadmap for improvement - an hour twice a month? More frequent? Longer sessions?

Going by what you stated I would say get together with your teacher for a couple of hours once a month. jw

Thanks. Sounds like a good plan. What’s the hourly rate for adult lessons in NYC?

The top players charge hundreds of dollars a hour because they can but not all are so money driven. I am sure you can get a great teacher for a solid lesson for about $150. Good luck! jw
